Rocky

Well Rocky is now a member of the family in more ways than I have time to post. I had a show tonight for Upper Case Living. I had a very good friend watching the girls. Her daughter is a afraid of large dogs. So Rocky spent the night in the garage.
Rocky has no idea he weighs 70 pounds now. He thinks he is about 10. He also thinks sitting on his favorite person is the best place to be. No I did not say lap. He sits on us. Legs, arms, laps are good, heaven help you if you where napping on the floor! The chest is a great shot for him to drop down on. So I had no problem with him being keep away from someone who is nervous around him.
When I came home and let him in, he put his paws up on me and sat there quietly. He just seemed to look me in the eye and say "I missed you. Don't ever leave me out there again." Normally he nips at our hands, whines, and runs around the room. We never pay attention to him during a "fit". He was so calm like he knew this is the way to get her/me to pay attention this time.
He chews EVERYTHING in the house. The girls toys come 1st. Stuffed animals and all Barbies are really made for dogs, did you know that? He also likes shoes, coat, paper towels, weball whables(sp), blankets, and pillows. Only the pillows, must be the daycare pillows. I have not fingered that one out yet. I know this is normally for a dog. I acutely have not had a problem with this because it keeps the house clean.
His affair with the car is becoming legendary. He loves to run but he loves the car more. If he gets off the leash, all we have to do to get him to come back is open the door of the car. This is because he only stays at home when we go to church. Yes you read that right. He comes with us everywhere we go. He has gone to the familt Thanksgiving three hours away. He also whent shoping with me on Black Friday. And he was good. He sat in the car. Well he did bark at anyone who came close to him. He can't be perfect.
He even went on the family shopping trip to buy new snows boots. He got treats each time we got back in the van. The best thing for hubby about this was, the girls did not want to stay in any store to long. Rocky might be lonely....now don't you think I saw this for what it really was????
Ladies don't let your husbands read this, or talk to my hubby. I am not sure how he figured it out but, The one way to shorten a girl's shopping trip....keep something in the car you will worry about more and want to rush back to check on. The girls had no time for toys.
(I on the other hand was worring about the car seats. Oh my it worked on me to!!!!!)

He has also been to the grocery store. He jump out of the car there. I thought for sure he would get hit. Then the light bulb went on, open the car door! I chased him around the parking lot for 23 minutes before I thought of this simple little thing. I swear if dogs smile.........
He was He jump right back in like OK where to now?
I am sure anyone watching got a good laugh out of the dog out smarting me. We ran around mini vans. I would run the opposite way I though he was going. My thinking, I would catch him around a corner. ya right. I know I saw one man laugh at the dog standing behind me while I waited for him to dart around the side.
He also loves it when the girls take baths. We have to keep the doors shut. If he gets in the room he sticks his WHOLE head under the bathwater. Otter said he even blew bubbles one time. Now I am not so sure about that one. I have seen him go bobbing after a Barbie. Now it is just the norm for Rocky to be as wet as the girls after a bath.
Who knew this dog would be so lovably weird.
I believe at the end of this dog's life years and years from now
The book Marley and Me will have nothing on Rocky and Us.
