Baby funny

Well I just saw how late it is....
I told the baby OK it's really late. We need to go to bed. She told me

"no, it's not bed to clock"
Well, that tells me! lol

A new Family member!

WOW what a week we have had. They whole family is getting use to someone new. His name is Rocky he is a Golden Retriever and about a year old. Hubby and I have been looking for a dog to fit us. We had all these things the dog had to be able to do. (Pretty much we wanted a person in a dog suite. LOL)
We had the type of dogs down to a Boykin or a Small Munsterlander. both are rare dogs and cost about $1000. Well as you may understand the gas tank calls more loudly in this days and age. The cost of the dogs was a little silly to us. So we pushed the idea to the back burner to take care of other things.
We did however keep talking about what we wanted and did not want in a dog. Here is our list.

1. good with large numbers of small children (daycare)
2. potty trainable
3. a hunter
4. walk on a leash with manners
5. good with children
6. will stay close to home
7. not shed to much (all dogs shed, some more than others)

Okay we got some of this list. I will get to that later. You who know this breed are already laughing at me. Any of you who have ever owned a dog, are rolling on the floor.

Here is Rocky's story.
Hubby went to talk to the 4h lady about the two dogs we where looking into. While hubby and the 4h lady talked she mentioned a stray that needed a home. The dog was out at a farm and had been there for about three weeks. There was talk about taking him to the shelter.
Hubby went to take a look without telling me. Calls me up and says Lisa there is this dog and goes on to explain the jam this little guy was in. OK you all know, I am a sucker for big sad puppy eyes. That was all I could see in my head.
I told hubby to make sure he could take this dog home once the girls saw him. And to make SURE he could come home with us before we went to see him. After three more trips, and some hot dogs we loaded up the girls to met the dog.
We got out of the super mini (VAN) and this SKINNY golden mess comes running straight for the baby. They chased each other around. We took food out of his mouth. We played ball. We watched the cuddle bug wrestle with him. We sat by and watched the baby turned on the Farmers golf chart and drive 5". That was a new one for us. By the way I do have to tell you, the kind farmer who was letting the dog hang out at his house had been feeding him. He said you would not believe how much weight he had already put on. I wondered what that could look like but I am glad I did not.
Well we all agreed he need a good home and we happen to have one without a dog. What a fit. You should have seen the girls faces when we ask if we should take him home. So we tyred to put him in the van.

He was under weight at 61lbs. You would think that would be no big deal to get the dog in the van. Ya right, not if it wiggles! A LOT!
Anyway the 1st night he sleep on the floor in the bathroom of our room. He now sleeps on my side of the bed on the floor. He cry if he can't see me. We tyred to put him in with Otter. She so wanted him to sleep with her. He was not allowed on the basement cough. By the end of the week, he really loves to sleep on the left side. He also likes to sleep in front of the firer place on the tile. There is no fire in it yet. He also sleep on the treadmill I never use. That is one costly dog bed. Right now he is sleeping next to me. Guess who he loves? I can tell you Otter really thought he would be her buddy.
He got his shots. He likes to run so he is getting a surgery in three weeks. The vet says he is in great health. He is about a year old. And I am hoping no one comes to looking for him. I have looked on the net and in the papers. No news yet.
He fits into our family so well. The daycare kids are ruff on him. He just moves. He stays right with me so he is never alone with them. The BEST part of this is he is house trained!!!! He does shed. He has no manners when it comes to walking. My arms feel like I have been on the rack. Did I mention he LOVES to run? The minutes he gets the door open and free shot, gone. On Friday I ran after him about 4 times. One of the daycare dads even let him go.
I will post a picture later. He has the sweetest eyes. I believe he will be with us a long long time.

The next time I will tell you about his name. I have to run to get some juice right now for the baby.
