Grad and Mother's Day

This is crazy I don't know what to write. We had a great weekend and so much went on. Yet I have a hard time typing it all out tonight.

The first thing is Nate graduated from high school on Sunday. He received scholarships and has school planned out. I had no idea what I was doing at his age.

The Cuddle Bug and The Baby did not like sitting for the ceremony. They keep asking me if it was over. Below is one picture I took of them as they waited. They were cute and had a few people giggling around us. It was a short ceremony too. The class did not use a speaker. They only had three speakers. One song which was very nice.

The girls would have hated my graduation. We needed pillows and I have no idea what the speakers had to say. It was so boring. Nate's was so much better. There was a slide show and the class gave white roses to their mothers. It was very sweet and made most people cry. And yes I did too, but not as bad as when my brother graduated.

Hubby and the kids got me a new camera for Mother's Day. I can't tell you how excited I am about it. You will be seeing more and more pictures on my blog now. This also means I will be writing more on the blog too.

The graduation party was held at The Elm Lake Resort Lodge. It is owned by Hubby's uncle. We stayed the night there and really enjoyed it. They like it also. Otter and Cuddle Bug rode their bikes all over the Lodge.

Shannon and Cuddle Bug.

The volley ball pit which became the sand box and place to find our children.
The water is very cold. I was worried she would fall in.

My birthday

Yep my birthday is coming up. On the 23rd my Grandfather left us to go to heaven. He was buried on my birthday. I am happy for him but sad for me. I miss him so much. I just want to hear his laugh. I know some day I will. He had the funniest laugh. it was more of a hoot than anything else. My aunt Dena laughs like him, just a bit higher.
He was an amazing man. He was a sharp shooter in WWII. He was a member of the devil dogs. He travel all over the European theater. He was also in Africa. He once told me about having sand fleas there. He met The Queen when she was little. He also met Gen Patton. I think it was him. He talked about dragging him out of a bar drunk and back to base. I wish I had more details of that story.
He had a purple heart and 4 bronze stars.

He loved the backwoods of Kentucky and all of God's creation. I think it was the one place he felt whole. He could tell you how to survive in the woods. Once he showed me a fuzzy thing on the forest floor. He said you ever get lost and are hungry look for this, the sugar will keep you going. It happen to be a persimmon. I had no idea being an Air Force Brat. I wish I had one to eat now. I am blessed to have known a true hero in him. I know he would not have said that. Heros never do.
He is the main reason this year I am a little down. The funny thing is he is having a GREAT time right now!!! I am grateful that he is with God. I am grateful that God gave us a way to be with him forever.

I will be older than my hubby for 4 months....he is going to tease me the whole time! I hope this year I will get a dig camera.
The girls are doing well. Otter is reading The Sweet Valley Twins books. Cuddle Bug is talking about what she wants to do for her birthday, it's in July! The Baby tells she is not a baby any more!! She does have the biggest attitude for a little girl.
Cuddle Bug and The Baby now have bunk beds. Baby is not allowed to go up on top. Well, yesterday I found her on top playing Barbies. Cuddle Bug made sure to tell her it was HER bed.
They are all drawing and using to much paper. The green people would not be happy with us.

By the way we never made it to the baptism. Hubby got called into work.
